I agree, I'd ditch the T1 and PRI, and move that service to a SIP trunk provider, and host it on a PBX on a VPS in the cloud. As a business they probably want something commercially supported so 3CX SMB is free forever for 4 simultaneous calls, and they're opening up to any SIP trunk provider as long as it's either community tested or provider tested.

Generally 3CX has kept true to this but . . . just be clear.

I used 3cx (Windows) eons ago, before switching to (cover your eyes) TrixBox, then finding Incredible I was finally home.

They played games with the free version even back then. I switched because they moved something from the free version to the paid only tiers, can't even remember what at this point. In retrospect I owe them a debt of gratitude.
