Sprint and GV question

I hope people don't mind me asking this here, just trying to get some info from those who seem to know the most about GV and using other services with it...
I’m planning on using my Sprint number with a Google Voice account, once that option/feature is officially released.
I’d like to be able to pick up my cell calls on my computer, either through Gmail, or another system (maybe X-Lite) and through my OBi100, using GV.
The question is, is it not a smart idea to set up and use my main Gmail/Google account with my Sprint number (I don't really need the number currently have there)? On one hand, that’s probably the most convenient, but if I’m going to want to have all the other services connecting to my account, will that take away from my regular Gmail use, or picking up calls through my computer (and Gmail)?

And I just saw that they announed that they're officially launching the Sprint/Google Voice integration on April 26th...

As long as you turn off Google Talk/Chat on your main Gmail account, you'd be fine using the number. But, if you leave it on, then the calls will never ring on your phones. It's still safer to get a new Google account and ask Google to move the number over from your original account IMHO.
