Hello all,

this morning I had a power outage. After restarting all my ipbx was locked down.
I investigated a bit, and i found that if internet is down the startup of the server is incredibly slow...

For example here it hangs for 10 minutes...

Starting atd: [ OK ]
Starting HylaFAX queue manager (faxq): [ OK ]
Starting HylaFAX server (hfaxd): [ OK ]
Starting IAXmodem: [ OK ]

Please wait...

<HERE IT HANGS A LOT!!!>

Bluetooth: Core ver 2.15
NET: Registered protocol family 31
Bluetooth: HCI device and connection manager initialized
Bluetooth: HCI socket layer initialized
SETTING FILE PERMISSIONS..................Done
Removing any dangling symlinks
Dangling symlinks removed

Please wait...

<HERE IT HANGS A LOT!!!>

Is there a way to speedup the process, since I have fixed phone line so I don't need internet on pbx?
Thanks in advance

Incredible PBX is designed for use with the Internet. That's what VoIP is all about. Sorry.

Hi, no problem, just looking for a workaround since I have fixed lines connected with a patton (BRI) and I have very unstable internet here.

I found that putting this on my resolv.conf
options rotate
options timeout:1
options attempts:1

speedup the process. What kind of issues am I going to fight with if the pbx starts with no internet?
Thanks in advance and sorry for bugging you...

The problem is that Asterisk was not designed to function without Internet connectivity. So, even though you may be making a call between two internal extensions, the call will probably fail if the Internet connection is down.
