Anyone ever used one of these before? In particular the Syswan SW24 VPN Dual/Multi WAN router (they have a few but good reviews on NewEgg.) If not I'm looking for a recommendation for a reliable Dual/Multi WAN router that supports IPSEC VPN. I currently support several business remotely that have either RV042 or RV082 routers installed. I've used these (RV042/82) in the past and find that they go belly-up in 12-24 months. Also I'd like to be able to route traffic based on internal IP and/or TCP/UDP port to the WAN interface of my choice.

I'm certainly amiable to using a gateway router distro such as pfsense, sme, untangle or clarkconnect. I know however that it's sometimes difficult getting the IPSEC tunnel working with certain router implementations like the RV series above.

Any advice is appreciated.

no specific recs on HW platform, but i would prefer openvpn to ipsec - much more nat friendly (and easier to configure.)

Thanks for the reply. My only problem there is the cost and travel time associated in replacing the remote endpoint routers to setup the site-to-site vpn. What do you think of the overhead comparison between the two in regards to site-to-site VoIP traffic?

Chris

you mean ipsec vs openvpn? nothing signficant - they both have to encapsulate the IP traffic in either IPSEC or UDP datagrams.

I've set up SG560's with this exact setup and they're rock solid. McAfee owns them now and they're the UTM firewall.
