HI everyone,

I have seen this posted somewhere in the past, but I just cant find it.

How do I change the timeout when dialling ## to do a blind transfer, as in the time between each # (one of our customers are having difficulty dialling them that fast.

Thanks

Karl

Hi

I'm not sure whether you can change the duration, but you can change the keys pressed. look in /etc/asterisk/features.conf

I would always reccomend a VoIP phone rather than an ATA or analogue handset for just the reasons that your user is experiencing.

I would much prefer them all to have nice desk phones, but unfortunately they insist on having Dect phones, which I need to use the # transfer for as the phones we currently use dont transfer properly on their own.....

I will leave it as it is for the moment, I am sure they will learn to press the keys quicker :D

In features.conf:
featuredigitimeout = 2000 ; 1000 = 1 second
transferdigittimeout => 2 ; numbers of seconds to wait between digits when xfering

One of those should work for you to allow longer pauses between digits.

Yes, that is nice... I on the other hand would like a DECT based handset that can handle up to four lines (although I can live with two), and that I can limit which headsets can answer a particular line...

Thanks for that, thats what I was looking for :)

Joe, this is one solution we have looked at for our client http://www.icon-plc.co.uk/kirk/HighStreetvsProfessional.htm

These are very nice units and nice handsets, which have been designed with Asterisk in mind, the handsets are a little cheaper than the aastra ones and look a bit nicer, but the dect unit is a bit more expensive.
