Hi guys. Just a simple question. I've finished installing incrediblepbx 11. Already installed and setup Travelin' Man 3 (fantastic idea by the way) and now I'm playing around with Travelin' Man 2.
My question is this.
If I choose to lock down my SIP devices to my LAN AND don't setup anything inside /var/www/travelman (meaning no fqdn:83/xxx to my remote location), are my SIP devices supposed to still register and function properly?
If this is true (that is what's happening to me right now) then I don't understand what travelin' man 2 adds security-wise to travelin' man 3 (other than the lock down in permit). I would expect it to not let remote extensions register without enabling everything inside var/www/travelman and accessing the server with fqdn:83

Sorry if it's a dumb question but I just can't grasp it's meaning

Thank you all and have a beautiful weekend

Travelin' Man 2 lets people outside the LAN configure/enable their remote IP addresses for access to a specific extension. Travelin' Man 3 uses dynamic DNS addresses to automatically configure/enable remote IP address access. If you lock down extensions with permit, then remote users will only get access if their IP address matches what was entered in the permit.
