I am setting up about 12 phones for a client and want to use FTP vs t*f*t*p.
I found a good tutorial about switching from t*f*t*p to FTP and have gone through it.
I actually prefer the ftp approach as I can limit by user/pass also for a little more security.
The problem is that unless I disable IP tables, the phones can't download their config.
Via the add-fqdn script I did add ftp as an option, but despite that, it still doesn't work.
I have to stop iptables, then I can tail the ftp log and see it connect. If I don't stop iptables, they phones just don't connect.
Obviously it's a firewall issue, but would travelin man's scrip add-fqdn be missing certain ports?
The server is at RentPBX and is running a fresh install of Green.
It's on a public IP and the phones are behind voip qos routers on my local lan.
Once they get installed at the client's site the setup will be the same as in my shop.
What am I missing here?
Thanks!
