Trunks not registering at new location

I've taken my PIAF Revo to England for the summer. I've reconfigured the local lan here to look similar to my home lan, with the exception that at home my dhcp server can dispense ip addresses based mac addresses, but the one here can't, so I used netconfig to assign a static address, gateway, and dns server. I can ping out without problems, my cisco phone here registers ok.

But my trunks are not registering correctly. INFO shows:

Code:

12 SIP registrations.

Only messagenet.it, on 5061, appears to register. All the 5060 hosts do not.

The log shows:

Does this make sense to anyone?

i

Perhaps port 5060 outbound is being blocked by the firewall/router/ISP at the new location?

Do you have access to the firewall and/or router at this location?

Does this Cisco phone register locally or remotely? That item wasn't particularly clear to me.

Hi.

Yes, I have full access. It's just a zyxel router/modem. Nothing's blocked and I've opened up 4569 and 5222 as well for iax and something I can't remember...

Doesn't the sip trace indicate that 5060 is NOT blocked?

The Cisco phone registers locally.

Does the zyxel / zywall device have SPI or other packet inspection facilities? Turn them off.

Not in this model. In fact I used to use this same one myself some years ago for my pbx.

Doesn't the trace show a packet from sipgate:5060 arriving? Or am I misunderstanding it?

i

Yes, it appears that it does. Does this device have SIP ALG? If so, turn it off.

What model is it?

No SIP features at all on this modem/router - an zyxel 660r. When it was mine I had no issues with sip through it.

Been looking at the sip register dataflow. The 401 with WWW-Authenticate is expected, iiuc, and should be followed up by a new REGISTER outbound with the password encoded by the nonce.

Why would * not send that?

I believe that Xyxel's are notorious for having VOIP related problems. I had a friend who tried and tried and tried and tried (including hours on the phone with Xyxel support), but could never get external SIP trunks to register with several different VOIP providers. He finally returned his Xyxel and bought the newest RV0xx from Cisco and is happy again...

Set the externip in the sip details screen and all's well again. No idea why it needs that here but not at my previous location but c'est la vie...
