I have a couple of older servers running IncrediblePBX 13, which work fine, and which include the old Aastra configuration scripts. I wanted to create a new server with the same capabilities, and there are certain prerequisites that are no longer available, so I figured a copy would work. I created a Snapshot (image) of the working server, and then used that to create a new server, and that went fine. I updated the server IP address under the "Asterisk SIP Settings", and I also changed it everywhere in the aastra.cfg file, which tells the phones where to find the info for auto-configuration.

Then I deleted all the extensions, trunks, routes, ring groups, etc. I added two new extensions, and connected the phones. They booted up and configured themselves normally.

Now when I look at the phones, they are registered to the new server. However, the server does not properly see them as registered, and when I call from one to the other, it is hit-or-miss whether they ring or not, and whether I get a Not-Available or In Use message. They do work for outgoing calls, however.

I wonder if anyone has ever tried this, and if you have any suggestions for me to try. Thanks for looking!!!

For openers, I would note that you are using a verrrrrrry old version of everything FreePBX and Asterisk in trying to get this to work. As you say, the original works fine (and ours does, too). Having said that, you're best served by letting sleeping dogs lie. Nobody is going to be able to troubleshoot this because virtually nobody still is on that platform. Sorry.

OK, finally discovered that the problem is actually with a router I was using. Changed to a different router, and all work correctly. Nevertheless, I was able to create a similar copy from an IncrediblePBX 2021 installation, so all is better now. Thanks.
