I'm running a purple install and was wondering...

Should the port forward for UDP 5222 be limited to just a google server?

I've forwarded all incoming UDP 5222 to my pbiaf box and assuming GV is working properly things seem fine however for security purposes perhaps I should limit inbound 5222 to only google's servers.

Thoughts?

talk.google.com = 74.125.92.125 at least for the moment

Not aware of any exploits... at least for the moment

So it's your call.

IPtables entry would look like this:

-A INPUT -p udp -m udp -s 74.125.92.125 --dport 5222 -j ACCEPT
