When some callers (particularly cell phones) call into a customer of mine with a Sangoma card and four trunk lines they get a fax tone sometimes.

I have disabled fax on their inbound route, and in the General settings.

How do I turn it off completely? PBXIAF 1755.

More information - finally able to duplicate, and a clue, but unsure how to interpret. Have been fiddling with this for weeks and can't get anywhere.

Only happens to cell phones. I placed 25 calls and got one to do it. Only happens on POTS lines. It's a Sangoma A200 card with 4 ports.

Can someone tell me what to do?

Are you sure there is no real fax machine on the POTS line. it could be in a back room or something and taking control of the line before asterisk is able to take control of it. Sometimes people do this so they can send out faxes not thinking that it would/could potentially effect asterisk.

Disconnect asterisk from the POTS lines and then call the number a few times and see what happens
 
That's what I thought; I went through the whole place and there is only one fax and it rings on another line. The only possible thing I thought of was a cross connected wire at the CO. I'm going to try again a few more times with all the lines disconnected at the end of the day one day to be sure.
