I apologise in advance if this has been asked before. I have searched the forums and Googled the problem but nothing has come up. Probably because I'm searching for "asterisk" which PIAF is based on!
Anyway, I've been using PIAF for about two years now. Never really had to tinker with it much as it just works great. I have just purchased a new number and I'm getting a nuisance caller through it. Their number isn't showing up on my system like everybody else's - it's simply coming up as 'asterisk' and when I answer it there is nobody there.
I have turned Privacy Manager on this line, and verified it works, however I ASSUME that since the number is coming through as 'asterisk', PIAF (or Asterisk internals) are seeing that as a number (and not a withheld number) and bypassing Privacy Manager.
Bearing in mind I have noticed when I get wanted calls from abroad they come up as 'asterisk'. I have also checked the VOIP calls coming in from my VOIP provider and they list them as 'anonymous'. Can somebody please advise me how I can block the "number"?
In the meantime I have added "asterisk" to the Black List - not sure if this will work and even if it does it will only be a temporary measure.
