I just ran update source, and got this error at the end:

The running and source code version of Asterisk DO NOT Match!
This may indicate the asterisk did not compile correctly
Asterisk Running = k 1.8.4
Asterisk source = 1.8.4
Please check the log /var/log/update-source.log!
Press ENTER to continue

Any ideas?
Thanks!

I encountered the same thing, earlier. It's safe enough to ignore as the extra `k` in Asterisk Running = is what's throwing up the error.

Since it's in a compiled script, there's not much you can do until the PIAF devs resolve it.

Most likely a typo somewhere... Stuff happens! Just hit ENTER to continue and it works just fine!

Figured it was something like that, and everything's working fine - just figured I'd let 'em all know though...

It was fixed last night by Tom, but it didn't get posted until this morning. Thanks.

Actually that is on my list of things to fix as Digium in it's infinite wisdom decided to change a number of things which has messed up some programs. This was showing up in status also which has been patched. I will get to this on the weekend as I have paying work this week.

Stuff does happen indeed

On a possibly related note, when I installed 1.4.41 last night, and then booted, the status screen showed that my Asterisk version was ".4.41" while my asterisk source was "1.4.41"

Maybe the same issue?

It's called substring manipulation, and we understand there was a problem. We think it's been fixed. If you see the problem again with an install from AFTER NOON TODAY, let us know.

Yes. I see this same error on my piaf 64 bits when applied update-source 1.9.4 for asterisk 1.8.4.

BUT>>> you can still install things. It is an EXPERIMENTAL way of validating that various things compiled correctly. You should see a patch on the weekend.
