SOLVED Upgrade RasPi to Incredible PBX 2021

And that brings us back to the changes in Asterisk 18.9.0. If Sangoma had implemented the codec changes in the same way that they have done for every other Asterisk module forever, the make command would not have blown up. Nor would an error message have been necessary. Our apologies for not drinking the Kool-Aid.

@Samot: If you think Asterisk as an "open source project" is "much like Incredible PBX," I'd suggest you re-read the Contributor License Agreement that is required for Asterisk contributions. We don't sell our stuff nor that of our contributors. Nor do we use it in closed source, commercial projects.
CLA's are not uncommon. If you don't agree with it and don't sign it then that is your choice. You do know that there are quite a few that don't contribute directly but do the the licensing of Asterisk they have to make it available to the public and they do. People can freely apply their changes to their Asterisk build if it suits their needs. The Cisco Manager patch is a prime example.

The FreePBX project also has a CLA and if you don't sign it then that just means any contributions you have are outside the mainline of FreePBX. However, just like with Asterisk and the licensing changes to FreePBX code need to be made public. The same would apply to this project as well.

So between AvantiFax, FreePBX and Asterisk can you remind me again how much you've contributed back to them? Because you seem to benefit from the work of others.

We would never sign the Sangoma CLA allowing them to sell our work in closed source projects. That should answer your question as to Asterisk and FreePBX. AvantFax is a dead project; however, we contributed code just this week to restore free faxing functionality to FreePBX 16 using AvantFax.

As for benefiting from the work of others, that's what open source software is all about. Point me to another project that offers easily-updatable and customizable source code builds of Asterisk and FreePBX. Then we can chat.

Actually, the root of the problem is a major change in the self-healing functionality of menuselect. But, yes, RonR will also face this issue.

We've now pushed out this script update to all RasPi devices running Incredible PBX 2020.

for RPI Zero-W
I know there is some relatively small cost involved, but its very much like for me that:

- RPi2b worked but when I used it it was slow loading the FreePBX dashboard; also to boot from something sensible like an SSD-HDD or M2-SSD you need more power than the Pi USB2 can provide.

- Pi3b is more like it IncrediblePBX works well and you can run it from USB2 port booting from an SSD-HDD or M2-SSD; here again Dashboiard takes a little time to start, and so does the boot process take a minute or two for UCP and 'Clearly' modules to load.

If you use a RPi4b with USB3 and something like suggested in the tutorial; and get a more powerful power supply - I use one PSU Output 5.25 volts DC; 3.5 Amps Regulated 18 WATTS to power RPi4, Argon One case Fan, and 2.5inch SSD-HDD
