Is anyone using IAX2 with these providers. Both of them say that IAX is not recommended but I am trying to simplify my NAT issues and want to use IAX2. Any currently using this setup?

We have a number of customers on the PiaF VoIP service using IAX2, with few support issues and good quality.

Joe - I have some DID's with them but I think I will try your service for dial out. Inbound IAX2 seems to work ok with vitelity but outbound is no good.

I have used iax with lesnet. I recall using iax with vitelity in past without problems; right now using sip.

Dghunt - do you happen to have the config info for les.net iax service? Or Vitelity for that matter?

for les.net iax this works for me.
I did have major lag last week and had to pull it from my outbound list.
outgoing settings:

Code:
trunk name:[the user number i was assigned]

allow=gsm
canreinvite=no
disallow=all
fromuser=[the user number i was assigned]
host=did.voip.les.net
insecure=very
nat=yes
qualify=yes
secret=[mysecret]
type=peer
username=[the user number i was assigned]

register: user:[email protected]
I don't use any did's.

For vitelity, I just copy and paste their iax or sip recommendations you can find after logging into your account.

Thanks for the info. I got it working as suggested. For Les.net just leave off the peer name at the end of the registration string and use the sip setup.
