NO JOY Voice mail not saving

I have a single extension where the voice mail is not saving. I tried turning off vmx locator, tried toggling find me follow me. Voicemail is enabled.

Any clues where to look?

I can think of two possibilities, but I'm sure there are more.

1. Is the extension set to e-mail the message and then delete it? (And if so, is the e-mail address invalid, so the message is being thrown away?)
2. Is there a problem with permissions on the voicemail directory for this particular extension? Check permissions of /var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/default/#### and subdirectories.

Brilliant Bill. Thanks. The answer is behind option #1. Funny what the eye skips over when analyzing an issue. I really appreciate your help, as always.

Another way to solve it is to have the e-mail sent from a valid account. Then if the message gets bounced, the bounce reply is seen by a human. If you send through GMail's SMTP server, a copy of the message gets automatically put into the Sent folder. Then the audio attachment is not lost.
