For no apparent reason, my text delivery of voicemail stopped working.

There has been no change in carrier, phone, or contract. Email delivery of notice of voicemail is working, so sendmail must be working.

I tried restarting the box. Tried removing the pager address from the config, saving, and reloading, then adding it back. Updating the voicemail module.

Nothing seems to work and I am out of things I can think of to try.

Does anyone smarter than me have any idea where to look?

anybody else found a plausible cause for this? We have 2 service boxes doing the same thing.. both on incrediblepbx...

I did end up figuring it out.

Here is a link that was helpful:
http://www.emsperformance.net/2013/12/07/sendmail-dsn5-6-0-statdata-format-error/

I refreshed my DNS just to be sure that everything was pointed correctly but that wasn't helpful.

What I did find helpful was to use system manager to change the dns to something else, then back to what it was previously. I may have done a reboot on the server as well.

After that, everything worked fine.

a followup on this:
so, i did a cat of /var/spool/mail/root.. this is the response i'm getting when i do a sendmail.....

so definitely it's due to a domain issue... but i'm not sure what to do....

[[please note - my VOICEMAIL emails *ARE* working.. it's only the textmessage emails that arent'!]]

I know I answered this privately, but in case anyone else is struggling with it I'll repost it here.

The way I understand this issue is that the domain needs to resolve back to the pbx itself, and it has to be a good domain. The first thing I did was to check all the dns issues and make sure that the fully qualified domain name did indeed point back to the ip of the pbx. I repointed the fqdn to the correct IP address, just to be sure.

Next, I changed the domain name the pbx thinks it is. In my case, I did this with System Manager but you can do it with sendmail (which I think you did correctly). After rebooting, I changed the domain name back to the original domain name, reloaded, rebooted the entire box, and everything started working again.

I know that basically I did nothing, but that is what happened. IDK why it worked unless something withing sendmail or DNS got hinky and reconfiguring it straightened it out.

Problem resolved with this action as well! thanks for the assist!
