Asterisk 1.8, fpbx 2.8, and my phone outside the LAN registers and works fine. But, I just installed IncPBX2 and now I cannot get any WAN phones to register. In asterisk CLI i md not seeing any attempts to register. Nothing has changed on the router. Also, to be sure I created a fresh sip ext with new secret. Still nothing
SIP Ext settings and Asterisk SIP settings are:

Check IPTables - IncrediblePBX adds a whitelist.

also might be a good idea to redact your external ip address before posting

I see the value in adding Incredible PBX so I need to learn IPTables, but I have only worked with Sonicwall, Dlink, and Linksys firewalls. Is there a good guide online? or if its easy enough could someone give me the steps to properly exclude an IP from being blocked? I did just experiment by adding the WAN IP as a basic 'accept' rule, but no luck yet.

Webmin has an excellent GUI for iptables called Linux Firewall and it's part of PiaF. That is a great place to start.

did you end up figuring this out. I just installed pifa purple and for some reason none of my phones are registering either even though i had the previous version of purple installed and everything was working well.

I did. WAN phones would register after adding the public IP of the WAN phone to iptables whitelist via webmin>linux-firewall. This is not a good solution if the IP is dynamic. I think 'travlin man' was created for that purpose.
