Way of upgrading 1.7.5.5 w/ asterisk 1.8.0 to 1.8.2.2?

I have a purple box 1.7.5.5 running asterisk 1.8.0
.

Is there a way to upgrade it to the newest version (1.8.2.2 I believe) without reinstalling the entire box?

I wasnt sure if allowed to run update-source.

It was successful for me on my Atom box. It did take quite a long time with a couple reboots required.
