Who is a very good quality provider in the southern California area?

Who is a very good quality provider in the southern California area? Preferably one that provides numberous inbound/outbound channels.

I am demoing a system to a customer that is worried about call quality, so I need to have a great provider to use for the demo.

On the other hand, I dont want to have to pay through my nose.

Joe's old service is in Southern California and has the option of using high quality circuits at about $.02 per minute as I recall.

Where VoIP is concerned, and providing you have a good quality connection to the internet, within reason, the location of the VoIP provider is of little consequence.

Given the afore mentioned good quality connection, and good quality provider, I would challenge anyone to be able to discern the difference by ear alone between a call made from a UK provider across the pond, and a Southern Californian provider. (as an extreme example)

The point at which VoIP usage drops off, according to a Swisscomm study is at a lag of about 300ms - note that is the lag, not the ping time. The ping time would be 600 ms.

I always understood that it is better to be closer to the provider.

Any suggestions of a good provider though? Preferably one that supports faxing. I noticed that voip.ms has a bad success rate with faxes.

I'm on the east coast, and I host my virtual piaf in Los Angeles.
My provider is voip.ms, which has a LA POP (us3 server). My ping times from the pbx to the LA POP are < 5 mS. (I'm wondering if my hosting provider is where the voip.ms POP lives?) Call quality is flawless; if I have any issues, it's usually between the pbx and my endpoints.
