I am in the process of building my PiAF system. I have one IP phone currently connected. 4 extensions are defined: 1030, 4030, 5030 & 6030. The system status suddenly shows I have 12 IP phones online!! When I look in the logs, I see entries such as these:

=============================================
[2009-07-03 16:48:49] VERBOSE[23309] logger.c: -- Added extension '_*52.' priority 8 to app-cf-unavailable-on
[2009-07-03 16:48:49] VERBOSE[23309] logger.c: -- Added extension '_*52.' priority 9 to app-cf-unavailable-on
-- snip --
[2009-07-03 16:48:49] VERBOSE[23309] logger.c: -- Added extension '*79' priority 1 to app-dnd-off
[2009-07-03 16:48:49] VERBOSE[23309] logger.c: -- Added extension '*79' priority 2 to app-dnd-off
[2009-07-03 16:48:49] VERBOSE[23309] logger.c: -- Added extension '*79' priority 3 to app-dnd-off

In Asterisk Info, I am seeing SIP Registry=2 (my two registered trunks?) and 14 SIP peers (!)

Any ideas? Has my server gone nuts?

All of your SIP trunks and extensions count as peers. You may have 4 extensions, 2 inbound trunks, and 4 outbound trunks all registered using SIP.

Although you only have 4 extensions in this example there are 10 SIP peers.

In the asterisk cli type 'sip show peers' to see what I'm talking about.

That's it ... it's all of the entries I had to create for my DIDWW inbound trunk. Thanks for your patience with such a newbie question.
