I did a search and the only stuff I found is from back in 2010 fro Darmock (is he still around?) anyways,
I want to try to interface my Incredible13-13 (need to rebuild anyway as I have a glitch within the 13-12 - Just lazy. So, while thinking, I was wondering, have any hams (and I THINK there are a few here) tried to make an EchoLink Server on their Incredible 13-13 using either SvxLink or Allstar when in the cloud (Vultr). I may get a pi for our radio club that already has an echolink set up on their 440 machine.
I see Allstar uses Asterisk and wondering if we can interface with newer asterisk versions (like I said last post mentioning app_rtp and associated stuff was 2010).
I am running my system for four groups 2 of which are amateur clubs and it would be fun to have them dial in and hear 'Today in history, brought to you by NerdVittles" or similar content and also be able to access the node as an extension for making voice pages ("attention club members - the meeting for tonight has been moved to.../Cancelled due to weather" or similar)
This may be an interesting thing to try, but I do not know enough of the 'guts' of asterisk (or even how to add the app_rpt to the initial installation). I need more experience in linux and Raspberry Pi.
I am working now with another Ham in Michigan (I am in Maine) and he is sending me 2 Pis and a DV4Mini radio dongle to try to figure out why it won't accept certain commands by radio (we had it connected to Win10)
Any help greatly appreciated, especially configuring an extension for something like this) and if voice is easier for not boring the snot out of the rest of the forum my contact number is on the contact page of n1me.org (one of the groups)
