Bull. Both parties are equally willing to spend taxpayer money on things they like that don't benefit anyone but themselves. If you truly believe there is any significant difference between the two parties then they have succeeded in fooling you.

If you say that both parties are essentially the same then why do we even have elections? I guess history will decide which of us is the bigger fool.

I see both parties as corrupt but I still perceive significant differences in their philosophies and worldviews. And I doubt that Libertarians would be any less corrupt if they ever became the majority party, but there are things about their worldview that frankly scare the hell out of me. And that's despite the fact that overall I am in favor of less government intrusion on our everyday lives. But when I say "our", I am specifically referring to us real people, not big corporations or other non-human entities.

But on one thing we might agree, and that is that in our system of government most of the politicians are primarily looking out for themselves. Their second priority is helping those that contribute to their campaigns or otherwise help them achieve power. And actually serving the constituents that elected them is way down on the list. And I think that would be just as true of most thrid party candidates, were they to ever get elected to a major office. Not saying you can't find the rare individual that is the exception, but such individuals are indeed rare.

Agreed. And I don't think the Libertarians would need to become the majority part to become corrupt, a simple foothold in the system would be enough. As long as they are "lone guns" they are simply less prone to corruption.

Again, agreed. Representing the people under their auspices is one of the last things on their mind. That's why almost none of the laws they pass apply to them (like Obamacare), just to us regular citizens.

Truth Be Told: "The NSA does not have direct access to our servers." No, the NSA actually has to launch a query and wait a split second for the response. Then the NSA reports the results to the FISA court at the end of the month. But "the FISA court is not a rubber stamp."
