PIONEERS Awesome FS PBX

Oh I was wondering if anyone else has seen this, over 12 days so far FS PBX has taken a further 0.3 GB, over 120 days that would be 3 GB, over a year 9.1 GB of wasted space.

I've not configured, I've just left the system as a new install yet disk space is being consumed at a considerable rate.

FS PBX does seem to have consumed a lot of disk space but I don't know if the install is just that big or if it has been slowly eating up disk space. I cleared out 2 Gb of logging but that is insignificant compared to the 15 Gb is is currently using versus the 5.7 Gb my FusionPBX system is using.

I'm running FS PBX Version: 0.9.70

I think a lot of it has to do with the toolkits they're using to build the GUI.

Can dsiprouter connect to fs pbx the same way it connects to fusionpbx?

Yes it should work the same way

Now up to 13.8G used of SSD, anyone got any ideas on where to track this down, I cannot put FS PBX into production with this error as I'll have no disk space left within a year with no users, extensions or devices or gateways added.
Type the following command at the shell prompt to find out top 10 largest file/directories and will show what's talking space on the hard drive

Code:
du -a / | sort -n -r | head -n 10

The system will for sure use more space than FusionPBX. You need to run this command to see what's really taking up all the space. Maybe it's FS PBX backups or call recordings.

Code:
du -a / | sort -n -r | head -n 10

My guess is it's the backups. I gave you a command to run and find out what it is for sure.
FS PBX is deployed on many production systems. If there were something unmanageable going on, we would already know. The space is stable on production systems. I also recommend everyone to look in Default Settings -> Scheduled jobs and make sure you enable retentions on certain files and DB records

Quick Announcement:
The latest version of FS PBX now officially supports Debian 13 (Trixie)!
While FusionPBX hasn’t announced official support yet, we’re committed to staying ahead by ensuring full compatibility with the latest operating system releases.

In this release, we’ve also rebuilt the email queue for voicemail notifications — it no longer depends on the outdated FusionPBX scripts, ensuring improved reliability and performance.

You've moved from SRC to PKG install of Freeswitch?

This is currently the only supported installation method on Debian 13, as recommended by FreeSWITCH support. While we still build FreeSWITCH itself from source, several modules no longer compile, and the source files are not being updated—at least according to the latest information from their team. So we have to use PKG for those.

Understood,

But you make no mention of how to acquire a signalwire token here:

You're potentially stopping people from installing FSPBX.

Pretty much, you go to Signalwire.com and create an account. Then you can create an API token. The account is a 90 day free trial but I'm not clear if money is required to keep the token after that. It looks like they offer many services, so hopefully, no money is required just to have the token.

@pbxgeek will need to elaborate since I also don't see anything in his forum or blog except reference to needing the token for Debian-13.

It was described during the installation. However, we no longer need it. We are trying out a built-in token.

Otherwise I have an article describing how to get it.

Hey everyone,
We’ve just rolled out a brand-new Call Transcriptions module in FS PBX, and it’s honestly one of the most exciting features we’ve added in a while.
This update brings AI-powered transcription and summarization directly into your PBX — no external scripts or manual uploads required.
Here’s what it does

Real-Time Insights from Call Recordings

  • View your call recordings and instantly generate AI voice transcriptions right inside the CDR page.
  • FS PBX uses AssemblyAI for transcription — chosen for its accuracy, HIPAA compliance, and built-in PII redaction support

Smart Summaries

  • Once a transcription completes, FS PBX automatically sends it to OpenAI for summarization.
  • You’ll get clean sections for Key Points, Action Items, and Sentiment Analysis — perfect for call reviews and team visibility.

Video Demo

We also made a full walkthrough video showing how it works — from configuration to real-time demo of transcription + summary:
Watch here on YouTube

Don't forget that FS PBX has a fully functional built-in FAX handler. When you're ready to dump FreePBX and go with a more modern and functional solution, check it out.
