TIPS Cellular.everything

@Prits: Just an FYI... we really only need one Party Plan. It protects all of us from folks dropping out down the road. Having multiple Party Plans just complicates things and really doesn't buy you anything in terms of referral credits or cost savings. So I'd appreciate if everyone would stick with the link that @w1ve has set up: https://bit.ly/3uAf0bl.

Can a party be 4 or 5 lines in your own account, or only 4 different "heads of household"? If I put myself, my wife, and kids does that count towards the party plan? I couldn't tell from the visible website.

Any four lines will do. You'll get four bills if they're all in your family. Come join our existing Party Plan and get the number up. You can always unjoin and create your own party down the road if everyone bailed... which is highly doubtful now that we have a dozen members.

Visible isn't set up so you can have one account with multiple people all on one bill. Each device is a separate account and separate bill. And if you use Ward's referral code, at least he gets some credit to help defray the cost of his services.

Considering I used to get about 2-5 Mbs download before Visible, I'm very impressed with my new speeds:

I must be in a bad spot. I am only getting 8/4 (LTE)

I have four lines in my family; since I KNOW it's always going to be $25/month, it's all set up with Autopay and all I see is the statement. It's pretty much zero hassle, even with four bills.

If no limits and such a cheap price and being able to tether .... why couldn't one use this as a Cellular Backup for clients cable internet?

I got a router with an LTE modem in it, and it could see the Verizon network with the Visible SIM, but I guess I need to look up how to set up the APN with Visible.

Did you get this working?? If so, which router?

Not yet. I was having issues so I did a factory reset, and I think it removed some packages I needed. The cell modem protocols are now missing when trying to create a new device.

There was an additional one for the modem, but unsure how to get it back now.

UPDATE:

Got it back on, but unsure which one to use.

Try QMI Cellular for LTE if it doesn't work. EVDO is only 3G at best. I don't think the UMTS/CDMA is the best choice.

It seems that most of the LTE Routers are for GSM carriers. The ones that work with Verizon are either band-13 only or do not support band-13. Since Verizon is using bands 2, 5, 13, and 66 for the most part, I would think there would be decent LTE router that would support all those bands. I haven't found one that does. Much of Verizon is on the 700 Mhz band-13 in the rural areas but I'd want access to all bands for the best signal coverage.

Most of what I have found is Chinese junk and I don't care to have the CCP monitor communications.

@kenn10: Almost bought one of these from Amazon that supports all the Verizon bands you listed. It's also returnable for free if Verizon has the IMEI's blocked. I'm going to test Verizon in Asheville next week before I pull the trigger.
