I'm following the article here http://nerdvittles.com/?p=30683 and get to the point where I am starting the virtual machine for the first time. I am able to log in and here is where things go wrong. I expect it to just give me the PBX status window or just a CLI prompt but instead I get an error message about Asterisk not running and then an Asterisk pre Core. And then I am prompted to press Enter to restart. When it restarts, I see the Linux startup entries and I see a few [Failed] entries among the [OK] entries. After this, I am put back to the login prompt, which does let me log in, but then I just get an endless cycle of what appears to be the machine trying to start Asterisk. I can ctrl-C to get a bash prompty which allows me to reboot, but it's all the same. Each reboot gives me errors and errors and no actual CLI or anything.

This is an unmodified .ova direct from the SourceForge page and I have confirmed the CRC is correct. It loads correctly into VirtualBox with no errors, initializing the MAC address as prompted, and I am able to check the Audio and Network entries are correct in the settings, as per the article. I am not sure why it's broken.

Have you got a current version of VirtualBox on your PC??

Version 6.0.12 r133076 (Qt5.6.2) It looks like it was out September 03 and this article was published September 25. I see no reason to think that this version of VirtualBox would fail to run this appliance.

I'm installing v6.0.14 VirtualBox right now. I'll post an update if there is any difference.

OK, I've installed v6.0.14 VirtualBox and installed the appliance into it. I get the same issue as before. One thing to note- I get this screen before getting the initial error about Asterisk not being started. It's like someone packaged it without doing the setup?

That’s the way it is supposed to start. Try doing a standard install starting from a CentOS 7 image. Appears to be a platform incompability.
