I'm following the article here http://nerdvittles.com/?p=30683 and get to the point where I am starting the virtual machine for the first time. I am able to log in and here is where things go wrong. I expect it to just give me the PBX status window or just a CLI prompt but instead I get an error message about Asterisk not running and then an Asterisk pre Core. And then I am prompted to press Enter to restart. When it restarts, I see the Linux startup entries and I see a few [Failed] entries among the [OK] entries. After this, I am put back to the login prompt, which does let me log in, but then I just get an endless cycle of what appears to be the machine trying to start Asterisk. I can ctrl-C to get a bash prompty which allows me to reboot, but it's all the same. Each reboot gives me errors and errors and no actual CLI or anything.
This is an unmodified .ova direct from the SourceForge page and I have confirmed the CRC is correct. It loads correctly into VirtualBox with no errors, initializing the MAC address as prompted, and I am able to check the Audio and Network entries are correct in the settings, as per the article. I am not sure why it's broken.
