Installation problem

I'm glad someone figured this out. This is why they pay you the "big bucks", right?

Wish I could make some money at this! But then again I have a bad attitude as scuba is more important than working or pbx's.

Course CentOS 6 is occupying me <and a few others> constantly.... yuck many new wrinkles.

this has nothing to do with yum. This is a python script.

prior to installation of the actual pbx you could drop to the cli and run the
easy_install -U setuptools

command and see what happens

I am guessing you are confused so here is how to do it

1. place the cd into your machine and reboot

2. after you have selected your keyboard/timezone and entered the password for root let the install continue

3. eventually the operating system will be installed and the system will reboot. Ensure you take out the CD during this sequence

4. After the system reboots you will be presented with our legal agreement Choose NO and you will drop to the console

5. log into the console as root using the password you entered initially

6. type exactly

easy_install -U setuptools


then tap the ENTER key

either it will install or it wont. If not then it is beyond our control and you will need to contact the author of these scripts. If it installs with no errors then


7. type reboot then tap the ENTER key

8. You will then see the legal agreement screen again accept it and then choose purple from the next screen.

9. see what happens.


Again it is something unique to your place in the internet I am afraid. I tried a couple of other machines I have access to in various european countries and had no problems running this command either in or out of the install program.
