Hi all!
I've got my system humming along all nice and smooth with several phones and softphones when I realize I'm using ulaw and haven't switched to a more efficient codec. So I imported the G729 codec (from http://asterisk.hosting.lv/) and everything works now except for X-Lite. I guess it doesn't have G729 support. From what I've read, people say I need the paid version. I don't see a paid version, so I suppose they're referring to eyebeam or Bria.
Others have said to use X-Pro, but I can't get it to talk to my PIAF box. It keeps saying there is a firewall blocking it, but X-Lite can get through. I've tried a few others, but to no luck.
Anyone have any experience with a softphone that supports G729? I'd prefer free, but I'll take one with a free trial. Or what to set on X-Pro to make it work since it looks like it'll support the G729?
