When I test the voicemail on my new install of PBX Purple I get the prompt that says to leave a VM but whenever I leave one it does not show up in the panel or when I dial my VM from my phone. Not really sure whats going on.

Same issue for me as 94loranger. Some more details....if I try and leave a message it seems like it takes it, but if I try and do # after leaving the message and then press 2 to listen to it I can hear the message repeated fine but after pressing 1 to accept, it says "your message has been saved" and then says "Im sorry an error has occured" and hangs up.

Also same isssue for me. Voicemail transfers successfully, when I leave a message and hit the # key, it says "Thank you, Goodbye" as it should. But there is no message saved.

Also, I have noticed since my update when creating an IVR in the freePBX panel with the dropdownlist for recordings, I have "none" showing up. Yet when I look in the recordings directory they are all there. The voicemail system gives the correct recording when it answers as well, so I know they are there. I thought the latest update might fix the problem since I noticed it change the read write privileges of the recordings directory. I stilll can't see them in the dropdownlist.

Come on! You guys are killing us here by just saying "Oh yes me too" and not providing logs.

We can't help without YOUR help :banghead:

Sorrry, here is the log from the time the phone is ringing until I press the # key and hangup.

Sorry, it was too long. Changed it to begin when it starts recording the message.

I had the same problem when i first started playing around with my purple install. I managed to resolve it by disabling the Voicemail Admin 3rd party module. not sure exactly what it does but it seemed to break my voicemail. i just disabled it in freepbx and rebooted and all was cool after that. No idea what's actually wrong, just decided to disable it since it was new and voicemail related.

**UPDATE** I had a vendor call me and leave me a message so that oart is now working (I was suprised because last I checked it was not). Anyway I listened to the message and then deleted it but now the light is still flashing. I am running the Aastra 6739i with the 2.3 XML scripts. I think it is prob in the phone or script process but I wanted to mention the VM side is now working for me.

Check voicemail.conf and see if pollmailboxes= is set to yes or no.

If it's set to no, change it to yes.

"If mailboxes are changed anywhere outside of app_voice
then this option must be enabled for MWI to work. This
enables polling mailboxes for changes. Normally, it will
expect that changes are only made when someone called in
to one of the voicemail applications."
- found in voicemail.conf

The only time I have seen this is when the messge that is left is shorter than 4 seconds or so. Are your tests all very short?

I noticed that you have an Aastra 6739i. I just received mine. How do you like it and are there any tricks to making it work well with asterisk and freepbx

Love it! out of the box it will do the basics (place/recv a call) but where it shines and gives you the added functionality of using the full capabilies of the phone is with the xml scripts 2.3. Follow those documents (there is a sticky from Ward) and also implement the "self config" by using your Freepbx as your DHCP and t*f*t*p box (there are lots of docs on this but scattered, and took me a bit to find everything related). Once you have all that setup, plug the phone in and it downloads all the XML, creates a new extension "automagically" and you are good to go. Like I said it was a bit difficult weeding through everything and then I am a total noob on the whole PBX in general thing so it was a bit of a learning curve, but I managed to make everything work..so if I can..anyone can :wink5:

I managed to resolve it by going into the extension settings and clicking "delete vm" in the vm tab at the bottom. I had all the other options ticked, but I assumed that option "delete vm" meant to delete it once it forwarded to e-mail and I wanted it to stay on the PIAF box until I deleted it manually. Still not sure what this option does, but once I ticked that option the VM light went out.

Thanks...can't wait to get it setup. Had to order the 48 volt powers supply so will have to wait for a few more days!

np..if you need help just shout. Hoefully in the next couple days as my memory of everything I had to do may fail me if it is longer than a week :banghead:

Have my 6739i connected. Is there a summary for getting this up and running with the xml scriptes/etc you are referring to?
