OpenVZ Remote Installation

I run my PIAF on OpenVZ. And I have not heard of Virtual manager? What is that used for ? Can you give more information?

I was talking about Xen. OpenVZ is a proprietary product that isnt supported by a majority of the industry unlike Xen.

OpenVZ is opensource

Xen is great. Just to let you know. OpenVZ is opensource. Their parent company however has a commercial version of if called virtuosso.

The only issue I have to test is supposedly there is some problems if you use proxmox and a 32bits Asterisk.

Since under openvz you need to load the kernel module on the hardware node, not the container/guest, there seems to be issue with the zaptel driver under the guest...

So under Xen is probably a better idea, given that Xe fully isolates and permits having your own kernel.

32-bit Asterisk runs fine with OpenVZ. Zaptel needs to be installed on the server (properly) and then mapped to the VMs. We'll publish the solution used by a major VM provider soon.

hehehe... the suspense is killing me ;)

A straight install works fine, but for some reasons I can't make the MOH on inbound (works if I pu a caller on hold) work even though the HN has zaptel configured and the VE has access to it.

Any updates on the pbxinaflash 1.4 openvz container based VM? Something that can also work with proxmox?

I'm running Virtuozzo with CentOS 5.3 here. I wonder if I could somehow do a PIAF install and then wrap it up as a cached template once it's done. Wouldn't that be sweet... although it would only be useful to me on the same hardware though.
