I followed this tutorial (http://www.sthomas.net/go/blog/view/38/Using-a-sound-card-as-a-Music-on-Hold-source-in-Asterisk) for using the line-in on my sound card as a MOH source, but am having problems getting it to work consistently. After rebooting my PIAF box, the MOH will work fine briefly, but then ultimately the audio always stops and will not start until I reboot again. Right before the audio cuts out (and won't return), I always see this message:

DEBUG[2690]: res_musiconhold.c:577 monmp3thread: Read 124 bytes of audio while expecting 640

The number of bytes read/expecting is usually different each time. Immediately after this message, asterisk stops the MOH:

-- Stopped music on hold on SIP/4606-0a1873a0

Sometimes this happens almost instantly after the MOH starts, sometimes it'll last for a few minutes, or last night it actually worked for over an hour before crapping out.

Could this be a hardware issue? If so, could upgrading/replacing the sound card possibly correct it?

Thanks.

Well, it appears my problem was a hardware issue. Purchased a new Dynex sound card from Best Buy and disabled the on-board sound and now all is working great.

Dear Jeepjay,
I am trying to get MoH working from the sound card line-in but despite repeated attempts are having no luck. Would you be available to help me configure my paif box?
