Ok, so I'm clearly new here and pretty new to Asterisk. I've spent a good deal of time over the last 3 weeks familiarizing myself with the installation and configuration of the system and I'd say I'm pretty far along at this point. I have inbound calling via Motif and Google Voice directed to my extension as desired. What I need now is to be able to dial out from that same extension through the same GV trunk.

I have spent hours and hours searching through the web and the forums. It's not (thankfully) that there is no documentation: it's that there is so much to look through and so many variations. I could really use some help here.

Here is what I'm trying to do.
I have an extension, call it "ext 101" that has it's own caller ID set "101".
Let's say one the GV numbers I am using is 555-555-5555
I am using the Groundwire SIP phone (which I have to say is working pretty well)
I would like to select the account "101" and dial. Period. No nothing else.
When it dials out, I want it to see that I am coming from "ext 101" (caller ID) and direct my call through the GV trunk "555-555-5555".

This shouldn't be that hard. Either I am incredibly burnt (I am) or just weary, but I can't seem to make any headway with this most recent hurdle.

SIP phone registers properly with PIAF.
Intra-extension dialing works properly
inbound to 555-555-5555 is properly directed to "ext 101"

My setup:
PIAF Installed Version = 2.0.6.5 under *VIRTUALBOX*
FreePBX Version = 2.11.0.11
Running Asterisk Version = 11.6.0
Asterisk Source Version = 11.6.0
Dahdi Source Version = 2.7.0.2
Libpri Source Version = 1.4.14
IP Address = 192.168.1.198 on eth0
Operating System = CentOS release 6.5 (Final)
Kernel Version = 2.6.32-431.el6.i686 - 32 Bit
Incredible Version = 11.7

ASUS Wireless Router RT-N65R using port forwarding.
My ISP blocks port 5060, so I am using a custom port.

Sorry for the long post, but I'm trying to post the most pertinent info that I can so as not to waste a lot of your time.

Any help and/or pointers you guys can give me would be very much appreciated.
Thanks very much in advance.

Honestly I wouldn't put much work into this for less than 6 months of connectivity. If you didn't know, GV is discontinuing XMPP/Jabber connectivity to its services, thus rendering FreePBX's motif connectivity useless. You can certainly do it, but I personally don't feel it's worth the time and effort.

While normally I would agree, for now I do not have the funds to shop around for other options and quite honestly, I know I will learn something from it.

Thanks for your input.

I'm still trying to figure this out.

I'm still happy to help. What you want is something akin to custom contexts. The easiest way to do this, since you already have your inbound calling working, is to use outbound routes. Since you're using FreePBX 2.11 (and THANKS for posting that info up front - it makes it a LOT easier to help), you want to do something like the following.
HAqsEkU.png

Replace 7007 with your extension number that you want to force out the trunk in the 0 slot (where VoIPms is in my screenshot). Place this route at the top of your other outbound routes. Save and apply config changes and you should be off to the races.

I completely agree. That, and it's visual, and FREE.

Thanks guys!
One thing... I may be a blithering idiot, but where is the download link?

Oh, and did I mention - I worked with (gasp) Microsoft for the last 28 years - this is also my first foray into the world if nix. (so I'm out of my element on almost every front, but treading water nicely I think at this point - with no sleep)

Click on the "REGISTER NOW" button there on the right side of the screen. This is a "Commercial Module" that is installed ultimately through the FreePBX Module Admin screen. I think there's a guide to Commercial Modules somewhere. Let me search for a sec...

rossiv: what is the "843" for?

I did try to install it through the Modules Admin screen, but it said there were dependencies that were missing. I hoped there would be a complete script somewhere that I could just run.

I did register on the website, but haven't found anywhere to get the license for it or a download.

Oh sorry. 843 is my local area code. Let me run through it one my development box and see if I can get a step-by-step.

Hyksos : I've installed the System Admin module. That seems to be working ok. It says my license is valid. But I have been trying to get the Outbound Routs module to install and so far, nothing. I've been watching the video and it appears that it's not installed at all. I've cleared my cache and restarted the http service as well as amportal. Any thoughts on what I've done to screw this up?

I'd try to be of use here, but I can't get my dev box activated because I forgot my Schmooze Portal Password and the forgot password doesn't recognize my email address. So you installed System Admin and registered your PBX with the FreePBX servers? Did you "purchase" the free module on their website? Is the Extension Routing module listed in your License page?

http://wiki.freepbx.org/display/FCM/Registering+your+system+for+Commercial+Modules

Specifically:
If you have purchased a Commercial Module from the store please see the WiKi on Installing and Licensing Commercial Modules here.
To learn how to purchase modules please see this Guide

And Ross :) Because I never actually installed commercial modules. I should at least install the free ones I guess, I could be of more help.
But the point in all this is that if it's done right you should be able to install those reallllllly easily because it's a potential business relationship with schmoozecom.
So in theory you should successfully install this module and use it based on the doc about it since plenty exists and is up to date in this case, this is also the best method for doing it correctly and finding what schmoozecom should improve if it's too complicated or if documentation is lacking or hard to find.

Keep us posted!

rossiv "the forgot password doesn't recognize my email address"
I tested it just now and I did succeed in resetting my password. So maybe you signed up with another email address in your portfolio?
FYI

Indeed I used an old email address that I didn't remember that I had. Luckily it is still active and schmooze was able to look it up by my deployment ID.
